Devon A. King, Esq., is a native of Guyana and naturalized United States Citizen, admitted to the practice of law in New York, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago. Mr. King has specialized in U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law since 2010 and has developed a reputation for winning tough immigration cases.

Attorney Devon King earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Degree at the University of Guyana in 2006 and graduated with Honors from the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad & Tobago, in 2008. He was admitted to practice in Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago in 2008, before migrating to the United States in 2009. Mr. King was called to practice in New York in 2010, after passing the New York Bar Exam on his first attempt.

In 2010, Attorney King joined a top Immigration Firm on Long Island, New York, where he developed an exceptional acumen for immigration law and served as the senior immigration associate for 13 years. Mr. King is particularly versed in litigating removal defense/deportation cases before Immigration Courts nationwide and the Board of Immigration Appeals, including Asylum, Cancellation of Removal and Adjustment of Status matters. He is also skilled at crafting winning appeals, Motions to Reopen/Reconsider and waiver applications. Attorney King is no stranger to going ‘the distance’ against the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) and the U.S. Department of State, and prevailing for his clients, in family and employment-based immigration cases. He has also accomplished extraordinary results in cases where clients were prejudiced by ineffective assistance of their prior immigration counsel. Mr. King’s expertise in Immigration Law has also made him a ‘go-to’ source for criminal-defense attorneys seeking advice on immigration consequences of potential criminal convictions faced by their non-citizen clients. Attorney King testified as an expert witness in Immigration Law, in criminal proceedings before the Supreme Court of the State of New York. He also speaks regularly on immigration issues to church and community groups.
